about the guqin

an ancient chinese music instrument

Dating back more than 3,000 years, the Guqin is one of China's oldest musical instruments. The Guqin is a traditional Chinese stringed instrument, deeply rooted in Chinese culture and history. It is a plucked zither that has been revered for thousands of years, often associated with scholars, poets, and philosophers in ancient China. The Guqin is considered a symbol of Chinese high culture, often associated with Confucianism, Daoism, and scholarly refinement. The Guqin produces a soft, ethereal tone, emphasiing subtlety and resonance.

In 2003, the Guqin was recognized as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
