FAQ’s

Mediums? All mediums welcome: painting, drawing, mixed media, fabric, thread, ceramic, collage, photography, printmaking, framed, unframed, paper, canvas, board, wood, metal, recycled objects…. can I list any more? If you create it to the correct size and it can safely hang on the wall in a gallery environment, then it is accepted. Call or message me if you have specific queries.

What about video or film works? The gallery does not have film media presentation devices, therefore any moving image artwork must be accompanied by a presentation device with all cords and standard Australian plug-in. Audio is not included for exhibited works, so please ensure any ‘moving image artwork’ is developed for silent presentation only; and limited to 2 minutes. The size restrictions apply for the presentation device (exclusive of cords).

Sculpture? Yes, the depth dimension for sculpture is {148mm}.

Can I post it from regional / interstate / NZ? Definitely, this award is open to all Australian and NZ artists.

What hanging system is used? A standard track and hook hanging system is installed in the gallery. The gallery owner may also use removable devices for light works, such as: magnets and clips for paper works; or adhesive velcro strips for framed works. Please ensure the artwork has hanging wire on the back. Works that are not ready for hanging may not be displayed, yet are still eligible for prizes.

How do I price my artworks? Please be true to your artistic career. Price to the quality, size and time put into the artworks, time includes your career development. The idea of small works is that they are more accessible for gifting and purchase leading up to the holiday ‘gifting’ season. The price must include GST and 25% commission.

Will there be title labels with the artworks? Yes, all artworks will be numbered with corresponding artwork catalogue.
